The 2023 Exeter Adult Softball season for the JRF Panthers overall went well. The 2023 team finished 5th during the regular season with a 17-11 record. The most wins since the 2016-2017 seasons. The team had two league all-stars in Steve Frank and Eric Nester, including the league Cy Young award winner in Bruce Pflueger. Here are some highlights from the year:
Playoff Game of the Year
First round win vs Whiskers Barbershop - The Whiskers team went on to almost the championship, but the JRF Panthers took it to them during the first game of the playoffs in a 15-9 win.
Regular Season Game of the Year
Win vs crushers. The JRF Panthers came back for a come from behind win against 6-time champion Crushers.
Loss of the Year
Last regular season game of the year vs Dumpster Dudez. Despite outscoring Dumpster Dudez 67-21 the first 3 times they played one another, JRF played uninspired and lost 16-9.
Craziest Game of the Year
The 21-20 win over 10 West Pizzeria. The game went 8 innings and was called 20-20 tie due to loss of daylight. JRF was down 11 runs at one point in that game and came back to tie. The game was finished on another night. With JRF scoring 1 run in the top of the night and shutting them down in the bottom half.

Overall, in 2023, we learned the JRF Panthers can contend with their full roster. Hopefully, that will come true in 2024. We will have to wait and see!
